• Pontotoc County Retired Educators Association (PCREA) meets at 11 a.m. at Ada Elks Lodge for its monthly meeting and noon luncheon. Norman Cooper, OREA executive director, will give a legislative update. District Director Ada Hill will be a guest.

• Authors Dare Strickland and Gary Haney are signing copies of their recently published Pontotoc County book. The event takes place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Main Street VisionBank lobby.

• Al Anon meets at 8 p.m. each Friday at St. Lukes Episcopal Church.

• Gold Dusters chapter of Gold Prospectors Association of America meets at 10 a.m. the third Saturday of each month on the third floor of Fentem Hall, East Central University campus. For more information, phone Phil Robinson at 580-320-3424. 

• A fish fry and pie auction benefits Union Valley Volunteer Fire Department. Fish fry is from 4:30-7 p.m. and pie auction starts at 5:30 p.m. The event takes place at Ken Lance/Three Crosses Arena on state Highway 3E and County Road 3610. Donations will be accepted.

 • Food preservation workshop takes place at 6 p.m. at Pontotoc County OSU Extension Center kitchen. Phone 580-332-2153 for reservations.

• Mary’s Music Barn, featuring The Country Pride Band and special guest, presents traditional country music the third Saturday of each month.  Mary’s Music Barn is located three and one-half miles south of Stonewall on Jesse Highway. • Balancing food and play, fun games and folly take place from 2-3 p.m. at Harris Park in Hammond Heights. In case of rain, events will be moved to The Church of God in Christ at 3015 N. Townsend, Hammond Heights. This is a time of play for children and their families.

• Ada City Schools ILO Advisory Committee meets at 6 p.m. at  Ada Board of Education Office at 324 W. 20th.

• Latta Public Schools host a public meeting to discuss the possible implementation of a student drug testing policy beginning in the 2012-2013 school year. The meeting takes place at 6:30 p.m. in the Latta Public Schools auditorium. All parents and patrons of Latta Public Schools are asked to attend.

• Ada High School Performing Arts presents its spring variety show “Performing Arts Big Adventure”  at 7 p.m. in  Ada Cougar Activity Center auditorium.  Follow Bill and Ted as they travel through time and witness a variety of music and skits featuring the last performances of some of Ada High’s favorite seniors such as Connor Davis, Julian Mankin, Jack Malm, Jasmine Bayatfar, "Sweetpea” Hanson, and Zach Garcia, along with all the performing arts students and special surprise guests.  Admission is $5 for adults  and $3 for students. 

• Combat Infantrymen’s Association (CIA) meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at 730 E. Main in Ada. • Dairyland Donkey basektball is 7 p.m. at Sasakwa School gymnasium. Seniors versus teachers in the first game and community vs. alumni in second game. Cost is $8 if purchased in advance; or $10 at the door.  Tickets are available at Sasakwa School from senior class members.

• Al Anon meets at 8 p.m. each Tuesday at St. Lukes Episcopal Church.

• Ada Vet Clinic is conducting a rabies clinic from 9-11.30 a.m. and 1:30-5 p.m. Cost is $8  per animal.

• Animal Medical Center is conducting a rabies clinic from 8 a.m. until noon and 1:30-5 p.m. Cost is $8 per animal

• Arlington Animal Clinci is conducting a rabies clinic from 9 a.m until 5 p.m. Cost is $8 per animal

• Latta School’s Indian Education parent Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. in Room 111 at Latta Junior High School. Business meetings will be conducted for JOM and Title VII programs. The meeting is open to all parents of JOM and Title VII students.

• Toastmaster’s Speaking Club meets  in Room 311, Pontotoc Tech Center, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.  • The Divorce/Bereavement Support Group meets each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at The Compassion Outreach Center, 1124 Cradduck Rd., Ada. The group offers support for those who have lost a loved one through divorce or death. For more information, phone Tom at 580-332-6506.

• A dance is conducted each Wednesday at Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. Cost is $6 per person and is open to all ages.
