• Oklahoma Farm Bureau Safety Services is presenting an Auto Accident Prevention Course on June 18 and 19, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Pontotoc County Farm Bureau Office, 1027 West Main, Ada, with instruction on how to improve driving skills. Upon earning the Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Course Certificate, participants may be eligible to receive a discount on his auto insurance. The class is open to the public. • A dance is conducted each Wednesday at Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. Cost is $6 per person and is open to all ages. 

• Ada Toastmasters Speaking Club meets at 6:30 p.m. in Room 311, Pontotoc Technology  Center. The event is open to the public.  Improving speaking skills will allow an individual to enhance his or her abilities and increase chances for job promotion. • The annual Gerty Alumni Reunion will be held  in the Gerty Community Center.  The building will open at 10 a.m. for visitation.  A short business meeting will be held followed by a potluck dinner at 12 noon. The Class of 1962 will be celebrating its 50th anniversary and will be recognized. The event is open to all former students, teachers and residents.
