• ACT II Youth Drama Camp 2012 presents “The Pied Piper: Puppets on a String” by Vickie Reifsnider at 2 p.m. in ECU’s Dorothy I. • East Central University offers Drivers Safety Education. Receive discounts and rebates on insurance and feel safer while driving. Classes available for 15 and a half years of age and older. Different class schedules are available. New classes start every month. Reserve a class spot by phoning ECU Continuing Education Department at 580-559-5456 or 580-332-8000.

• Camp Fire USA’s annual summer day camp in Ada, Camp DaWaSi, will be held June 25-29. Deadline to sign up is June 18.  For more information or a registration form, contact Stephanie Westmoreland at 580-332-1360. 

• TOPS, Take Off Pounds Sensibly, a support weight loss group, meets at 8:30 a.m. each Monday at Irving Community Center, second floor. For more information, phone 580-399-6731. 

• Oklahoma Farm Bureau Safety Services is presenting an Auto Accident Prevention Course on June 18 and 19, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Pontotoc County Farm Bureau Office, 1027 West Main, Ada, with instruction on how to improve driving skills. Upon earning the Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Course Certificate, participants may be eligible to receive a discount on his auto insurance. The class is open to the public. • Al Anon meets at 8 p.m. each Tuesday at St. Lukes Episcopal Church. 

WEDNESDAY

JUNE 20 , 2012

•  The Divorce/Bereavement Support Group meets each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at The Compassion Outreach Center, 1124 Cradduck Rd., Ada. The group offers support for those who have lost a loved one through divorce or death. For more information, phone Tom at 580-332-6506.

• A dance is conducted each Wednesday at Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. Cost is $6 per person and is open to all ages. 

• Ada Toastmasters Speaking Club meets at 6:30 p.m. in Room 311, Pontotoc Technology  Center. The event is open to the public.  Improving speaking skills will allow an individual to enhance his or her abilities and increase chances for job promotion. • Al Anon meets at 8 p.m. each Friday at St. Lukes Episcopal Church.

• Roff Masonic Lodge 169 and Vanoss Volunteer Fire Department host  the 12th annual pie auction at 6:30 p.m. at Vanoss Volunteer Fire Department. • Byng Alumni basketball game is hosted by Byng Excellence in Education Foundation (BEEF) on June 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Kohler Field House, Byng.  Pies, cakes, autographed OU sports items, and much more are  for auction at halftime of girls and boys games.  Door prizes!  Cost is $5 admission, $3 for students.  Alumni wishing to play ball may contact christisayre@yahoo.com. • Combat Infantrymen’s Association (CIA) meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Ada Public Library . • The annual Gerty Alumni Reunion will be held  in the Gerty Community Center.  The building will open at 10 a.m. for visitation.  A short business meeting will be held followed by a potluck dinner at 12 noon. The Class of 1962 will be celebrating its 50th anniversary and will be recognized. The event is open to all former students, teachers and residents.
