Ada —
Oklahoma Green Expo will be presented Friday and Saturday at Pontotoc County Agri-plex in Ada. Sponsors say the two-day event will feature speakers and industry leaders providing advice on how area residents can live a “green” lifestyle.
According to the group’s website, it is “the single largest opportunity to see, share, learn and participate in green innovation and design.” Featured will be home and garden ideas on water and energy efficiency, building and remodeling as well as landscaping techniques to enhance a green lifestyle. A focus on business and industry will zero in on energy efficiency, construction, operation and maintenance.
Recycling and reuse, transportation, education, green products for the home, as well as organic farming and integrated pest management will also be topics of interest to residents.
Recycled goods may be dropped off in the north parking lot at the Expo on Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This includes Latex paint, tires (no rims), fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, e-waste (no TVs or monitors) and ink cartridges.
Keynote speaker for the event is Leilani Munter, professional NASCAR/Indy driver and stunt woman.
Oklahoma Green Expo is sponsored by the Chickasaw Nation and other community businesses. For more information phone Theresa Hammons at (580) 421-5026.
