Lysistrata

The old women of Athens, who have taken over the Acropolis as part of a plan to end the Peloponnesian War, square off with the old men who are trying to smoke them out in a scene from Lysistrata. The Aristophanes comedy will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at East Central University. The other part of the plan is a certain vow taken by the young women to ensure negotiations to end the war. Wearing masks as the ancient Greek actors did are ECU actors, from left, Deanna Baker of Shawnee, Kim Wren of Ada, Jeff Bush of Bowlegs, Jared Scofield of Ada and Domineque Carey of Springer.
