Tupelo couple celebrates 60th wedding anniversary

Tupelo —  

ADA — Mr. and Mrs. Billy Woods are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with a private family dinner. Billy Joe Woods and Francis Lorene Foreman married Dec. 22, 1951, at Ada.

Mr. Woods started Woods Dirt Contractors and owned it for 36 years before selling it to their son, Larry Woods. Mr. and Mrs. Woods own and operate a small cattle ranch at Tupelo. Mrs. Woods and their daughter Marie Shoemaker started and still continue to organize the Tupelo Angel Tree yearly for Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Woods are members of Tupelo Church of Christ.

Their children include Larry and wife Kathy Woods, Tupelo, Marie and the late Ted Shoemaker, Tupelo, and the late Joy Woods. Grandchildren are Charity and husband Terry Eidson, Centrahoma, Chris Woods, Ada, Chad Woods and fiancé Cierra Pittman, Ada, and Lisa Shoemaker, Tupelo, and the late Timmy Woods. Great-grandchildren are Jaycee Eddings, Jace Eidson, Karsyn Woods and Kamryn Choate.
