  • Fans on Hand Woodward only a year away from big upset of Class 4A champion

Upset? We got some. In Week One just one year ago Woodward pulled off one of the biggest upsets of recent times by knocking off defending 4A champ Oklahoma City Douglass. The derailing of Douglass came after a lackluster, 5-5 Woodward regular  season and 6-6 overall. So the Boomers will not be able to catch Ada looking past them in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs here tonight.

  • Big clash in OKC Ada-Douglass dubbed No. 1

The biggest game of the year just got bigger for the Ada Cougars. Though the high-powered Cougars have displayed their wares all year long, the lack of quality opponents stifled much of the statewide publicity. That ended Monday with the naming of the Ada-Oklahoma City Douglass game for the District 4A-2 championship as the No. 1 game in the state by The Oklahoman, overshadowing even the Deer Creek at McGuinness contest, also for the title in 5A-2.
