Ada prepares for Clash of 4A titans

Ada — It all comes down to this.

Undefeated Ada will travel to Moses F. Miller Stadium in Oklahoma City to take on tradition-rich Douglass in a highly-anticipated battle of Class 4A heavyweights Friday night in a winner-take-all battle for the 4A-2 District Championship.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. — not the normal 7:30 p.m. start Ada fans are accustomed to.

The Cougars are a perfect 9-0 on the season and ranked No. 4 by the Associated Press and The Oklahoman and No. 6 by the Tulsa World. The Trojans stand at No 6 in the AP poll and The Oklahoman and No. 7 in the Tulsa World. According to CoachesAid, Douglass is No. 3 and Ada is No. 4.

The Oklahoman has called it Week 10's top game in the state. Back-to-back home playoff games will be awarded to the winner.

It's Clash of the Titans, Class 4A style.

"Our kids will be ready to play. It's exciting to be the No. 1 game in the state and have so much on the line," said Ada head coach Matt Weber. "It's been a fun week. It's a week where you don't have to worry about your kids being excited and ready to play. I'm sure (the Trojans) will be the same way."
